Island Church

IC_Exterior.JPG

The church's sincere and unembellished mode of worship lent itself to a pared-back design but great care was nonetheless taken to balance the various sources of ambient light - diffuse pendants and sconces, indirect cove lighting, and downlights - with careful accents; the latter in particular being in a reception area that was conceived as a 'living room' for the community. In addition, the lighting design had to take account of the theatrical-style lighting directed at the altar/stage, as well as the self-illuminated screens that broadcast songs and various messages within the church proper.
